Words by Stevie Ward: This is my favourite podcast that I have recorded on so many levels. I felt me and Steven connected on quite a lot, despite us being on complete opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of disciplines and physical professions.
We speak about the roles and differences that masculinity has in both of our professions, the stereotype of a Ballet dancer, and Steven’s interesting journey coming from a motorsport background to being a world class dancer.
Steven talks us through winning the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland and then going straight to London to train at the Royal Ballet.
We talk about the lessons learned from the stage and the rugby field and find some unbelievable similarities.
Steven has had a lot of adversity with injuries and we compare anecdotes on that front and talk about his experience of snapping his achilles on stage in front of a full auditorium.
Enjoy the podcast. We hope you get as much from it as we did.
